Welcome to the warehouse!
Become a warehouse worker in charge of Woody Furniture's inventory.
Find out:
- how to manage receipts and deliveries
- how to adjust stock
- how an inventory system works
Let's check it out!
1. Receive your order
Claire • Warehouse worker
We have just received a pallet from our supplier Vandenoever. Could you receive the items that are in the crate?
You
I'll take care of it! I'm in the Barcode app.
In the Operations, there are receipts to process.
I select Vandenoever's receipt.
I scan the 6 items by using the yellow buttons
of the scanner and I also scan the label of the shelf so we will know where they are located.
I confirm and put them on the shelf Stock 1.
I go back to the main menu of the Barcode app.
2. Transfer the stool components to manufacturing
Julien • Inventory Manager
The workshop needs the stool components to continue production. Could you move them from the Stock 1 shelf to the Stock Production shelf?
You
Ok, in the Operations, there are internal transfers to process.
I open the task, then I scan the stool components and the label of the Production shelf.
To finish, I validate the transfer.
3. Prepare a delivery
Claire • Warehouse worker
Hello, could you deliver a stool and two door handles to our customer Ready Mat?
You
Ok, in the Operations, I see the deliveries to process. I select Ready Mat's delivery.
I scan the label of the source location of the stool before the product. Then, I do the same for the two door handles.
Claire • Warehouse worker
You can put the products in a box for shipping and place it on the pallet.
4. Adjust the inventory
Julien • Inventory Manager
Could you help me?
The quantity of the boxes of screws is not up to date in the system, I only see 3 in the warehouse.
You
Sure, I'll proceed to an inventory adjustment.
I go back to the main menu of the Barcode application and use the Count Inventory menu.
I scan the label of the shelf where the boxes are located before scanning each product.
I confirm, note the reason and apply the adjustment now.
What is an inventory adjustment?
An inventory adjustment is the manual update of the stock of a product. This can be useful if, for example, some products are damaged and cannot be sold. It is then necessary to modify the quantity of products in stock.
